The mind is a powerful thing. It has been scientifically proven that the mental state can affect the physical state. That is how placebos work. People believe a pill or drug will improve their health. Scientists are finding that taking a placebo has real, measurable, biological effects on the brain and body, similar to the effects caused by drugs. It is not a imaginary effect. Neuroscientists are finding that these real, biological changes can be measured. For an example, the placebo painkiller can trigger the release of endorphins in the brain. These are actual pain-relieving chemicals, just like what pain-relieving drugs would do. Their are studies showing that patients who receive non-conventional treatment fared better than those who received conventional treatment, such as drugs. Part of the relief can be a result of the holistic approach that non-conventional treatments offer, such as the ritual, the expectations, and the nurturing care of a doctor. I believe the body can heal itself. Your mind can facilitate the process. You must have a positive belief. It is extremely harmful to tell a patient they only have a certain amount of time to live. One must focus on optimal health. Mind over medicine. Your attitude can truly make a difference. Be an optimist. In order to heal, one must be in a relaxed state. You must take proper steps to heal your nervous system, through mediation, massage, yoga, Tai-chi, laughter, exercise, play, etc. Be in control of your own health. Perform self-prescribed action. Your mind has tremendous power. Take power into your own hands. Nature is smarter than science at times. Remember, the happier we feel, the less disease we will develop and the longer we will live. Healthy self= Heal thy self. Having balanced wellness in your life will lead to happiness and a positive mindset.
Sadly our society spends more time and money on external beauty than we do for internal beauty. We spend millions on fancy gym memberships, spas, cosmetic procedures, and personal care products. However, most people spend very little time or money working on themselves internally. In order to be truly happy, you have to do inside work. External things only make you feel happy temporarily. You can't rely on those "things" for genuine happiness. You can be happy and feel beautiful even if you don't have the funds to buy external beauty. A universal feature that everyone loves is a terrific smile. You can get that for free and without any risky side effects! When you are happy inside, you radiate an aura and glow that other's can't help but notice. You must put in the time and energy towards inner conditioning. When you have inner peace and happiness it will show.
We must learn to stop outsourcing for our own happiness. It is important to not rely on extrinsic conditions, people and circumstances to make you feel happy. You only have yourself to blame for your unhappiness.
Time and time again you hear people say "I'll be happen when.......".
Happiness is a choice. We are responsible for our own happiness. You can't expect to get it from other people. Others may add to your happiness, but they can not make you happy. The reality is that people will disappoint us. Happiness does not come from a store front, nor is it something you can buy from a catalog. Material things can be taken away from us. If you relied on your Coach bogs and luxury cars to make you happy, how would you feel if they were taken away from you? Our society loves to acquire the newest and best of things. The constant burden of trying to keep up is exhausting and never ending, as new technology is always coming out. It is like dangling a carrot on a stick, always moving. Once you make X amount of money, you then increase the amount that will satisfy you. Social media and advertisements do a wonderful job of convincing us we need all these "things" to make us feel good. Lasting and true happiness must come from within. Happiness is a state of mind. Internal happiness is pure. To be truly happy we have to have inner peace and balanced wellness. I recommend practicing meditation daily to help you achieve happiness. Listen to your heart. Live in alignment with your intuition and let go of the facade.
